The Story of the book
Kebab Project is a limited edition artbook by the young Turkish immigrant Çağan Okuyan (a.k.a. Tchane Ok) in collaboration with artists from multidisciplines; documenting the soul of the kebab culture, shifting and altering boundaries between the once segregated notions of race and diversity that now forge the rich and luscious culture of European cities such as Berlin, Paris. The book takes us on a visual journey of how political tides and difficulties can be resolved through something as simple and unexpected as kebab. While telling immigration stories with the döner kebab the book conveys to the reader, the vigorous dialectic and exchange between the cultures through photos and interviews. Kebab Project is taking you on the journey from the Southerneast of Turkey to the heart of Europe with images and words of real stories; the challenges that all parties have lived through overcoming the hardships and the distress embracing eachother and the transformation that came along with it.
